WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR GARDEN WASTE?
When you use SDL Garden Waste Services your gardening material is transported to a nearby large composting facility and after processing is returned to farm land that grows food for your table.
Local Authorities often promote home composting your food and garden waste. This sounds sustainable but be aware that hard branches need to be shredded, and compost heaps need to be completely turned at least four times to eliminate plant disease, pathogens and weed seeds. Without mechanical assistance this process can be a lot of hard manual work. Small compost heaps are also rarely big enough to maintain sufficient heat so you may be spreading disease and weed seeds round your garden. Poorly composted food waste can also attract unwanted vermin.
